Age 5: you remembered.
On a ship for a transatlantic voyage. My mom, dad and brother are traveling to Australia… The smell of the crab pasta with braise has never left my memory… I still crave it…
Age 15: dreams
To return to Greece at all costs... I watched the Greek projects on TV and dreamed of the moment to return to my deep blue country, to live free, to hang out with Greeks, because the bullying abroad was unbearable. Not for me because I happened to be white, blond, knew the language and was a very good student. The other Greek girls, the darker ones who didn't even know the language, suffered... As if we had to be locked up at home from noon after school until the next day in the morning when we would go back to school. As for freedom of exit - ZERO - only at weddings and family gatherings once or twice a month at most. Studies that I later finished with honors...my parents' dream that worked out for me.
Age 25: deeds
I returned to Greece. Sun, light, travel, nights out, company, fun, experiences.... A sweet life... as I dreamed of it. I fell in love with Greece and my future wife. At 27 I got married and so far it seems I made the right choice.
Age 35: actions
I had become a dad, got involved in the hotel business and painted non-stop… I continued to live the life I dreamed of… Free with my wonderful family
Age 45: achievements
Painting exhibitions in Greece, in New York, we also got a dog. Our Marcy...we adored her...and life went on as we wanted her now and as a family with its beauties and its burdens...Son's studies, stress about his professional development, more work to cope with social and family obligations... She at the time I loved sailing ... you would settle and leave ... nothing nicer
NOW: where we find you professionally and personally
Personally... there have been losses of loved ones in the post covid era... we also lost our dog our great love, but life goes on... To be honest I see more people frowning not so carefree and laughing and that is something that saddens me... But because the light is within us we move forward with faith for better things to come. Professionally, my paintings are hosted at the Numismatic Museum in Ilio Melathron, a special honor for my work, my upcoming participation in the group painting exhibition ENERGY ATHENS 2024 at The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies as well as my solo exhibition in the same space in the summer of 2024 and my family and I continue to dream about the life we have been given.
