On the occasion of 78th Anniversary of the Organization - October 24
The UN was founded on October 24, 1945 through the rivers of blood of about 80 million people, with genocides, holocausts, etc., with the aim, after the defeat of the satanic, horrible "Axis", to establish international peace and security and achieve international cooperation to promote human rights and solve the economic, social and cultural problems facing humanity. In its 78 years of operation, it has offered many and important things with its dozens of Organizations in many fields. Even in the field of international peace and security with its Peace Operations, having won the Nobel Prize repeatedly, with more than 3 thousand of its members who sacrificed themselves defending peace far from their homeland!
But, despite all the sacrifices, in this area he did not achieve what was expected, to abolish war, to outlaw it, as the American and French Foreign Ministers Kellogg and Briand had tried in the League of Nations, and later to adopt the famous Peace Guide ( Agenda for Peace) of the former General Secretary Boutros Boutros-Gali, which set the conditions for exemption, preventively, from war conflicts. Unfortunately, their bones will be crunched as well as that of the late President Franklin Roosevelt, who laid the foundation stone for the creation of the UN with the famous Four Freedoms (Freedom of Speech and Expression, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Fear and Freedom from Necessity).
Over two hundred million people have been killed so far in war conflicts, not counting the wounded and the other tragic consequences. And some powerful people, with the scandalous privilege of the veto, which constitutes the Organization's Achilles Heel, have undermined him so that he cannot bring his sacred mission to a happy end. Furthermore, a new foreign phenomenon appeared, which distorts the traditional framework of international relations. NATO, founded under the auspices of the UN to regionally promote its principles and purposes, tends to replace it, starting with the war in former Yugoslavia, Ukraine, etc. So NATO is mutating into a pro-UN! MERCY!
And we reached the current war tragedy in Ukraine with around 300 thousand dead, while the indifference of politicians, religious etc. leaders, plus media, in red. And the tragic irony is that while even the "dead" have risen up for Ukraine, they are defiantly indifferent to the Republic of Cyprus, and for 50 years Turkish troops have illegally occupied part of it in violation of dozens of UN resolutions. And Turkey illegally colonizes the occupied part of it etc. Even the UN Peacekeeping Forces were attacked by Turkish Cypriots!
Also, Turkey, imperialistically, has deployed military forces in the Middle East, in the Balkans and even in Azerbaijan. Don't these undermine the UN? And the barbaric conversion of Hagia Sophia, a Cultural Monument under the protection of UNESCO, etc. temples, it is tolerated! Unthinkable! Also, the recent tragic developments in Gaza, which pose incalculable international risks by referring to genocides and the horrible Nazi "Final Solution"! What more proof is needed to convince the people that the world is ruled by corrupt fanatical, profit-seeking, neo-imperialist, crypto-fascist circles who are weakening the UN as well, pursuing a new power imbalance in which they are, however, investing in various ways?
According to experts, the war in Ukraine has brought $250 billion in profits to some arms industries. And yet, a small percentage is enough to eliminate hunger and poverty on the Planet. As for the Charter Custodians, the lead and example was set by the late UN Secretary-General Dag Hammersjöld, who disagreed with the two Superpowers over the Congolese civil war, and dared and went to broker peace himself, but was unfortunately killed in an airstrike. "accident"... However, he won immortality, sacrificing his life, faithful to his sacred duty! Shouldn't there be a statue of him at the UN Headquarters and in the democratic Member States?
Regarding the latter, Eupatride Senator William Fulbright told an international conference in 1972 that it is wrong for small and medium-sized states to treat the powerful with a spirit of vassalage, when they should unite and force the powerful to respect the UN Charter! Unfortunately, this great proposal was not implemented either, the Member States are divided, the war tragedies continue. And the also tragic, the cynical indifference of leaders, political and religious, media etc. who watch the human sacrifices as if they were watching a movie, from which, however, the UN is absent or marginalized. And the ordinary citizen wonders: Where is the UN, what is it doing? And the answer is: Where is it, what are its Member States doing? The UN issues a dramatic SOS! Let the people wake up and support him practically, institutionally, financially, etc. If not, a new Armageddon is coming! HUMANITY IS IN DANGER! PEACE IS BEGGING! HURRY UP! RESIST!
