Where are all the "solidarity supporters", the rightists, the hypocrites of the Left and the furious activists hiding? How is it possible that they are silent about the massacre taking place in Persia, the brutal repression of anti-regime demonstrations, the murders ordered by the mullahs? Why have they swallowed their tongues and not spoken about the event that has shocked the world community? Is it only Gaza that they care about?
Until recently, all of the aforementioned were active and very talkative. Every now and then we had rallies in favor of Palestine, speeches, road closures, protest marches to the Israeli embassy and media… convoys. But now, with the exposure of the inhuman and totalitarian regime that has been tormenting the people of Iran since 1979, the “hypersensitive” are keeping a fishy silence. In fact, they are so careful that they even call the mullahs “religious leaders”! The same people who call any Orthodox priest who speaks out against the liberation of morals, gay “marriages” etc. “Taliban” are very careful with their wording when the discussion reaches the Islamic clergy of Iran.
Of course, this "sparity" in words and inaction does not go unnoticed. Public opinion has begun to form the view that there is some center (most likely outside the borders) that determines both the actions and words of... solidarity professionals and the leaders of specific activist initiatives. This assessment, at least to a certain extent and for certain well-known and non-exceptional persons... of unspecified profession, is accurate.
But there is also an ideological "cimbalom" in the case. Many left-wing activists consider Iran to be an anti-imperialist "counterweight" to the West. For this reason, they choose to ignore the crimes of the mullahs' obscurantist regime. Iranian exiles express frustration at the lack of solidarity generally from the Western Left, which stands idly by while the regime massacres protesters.
Tears for Palestine and indifference for Persia set the tone of hypocrisy for rightists everywhere.
