To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

The Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, spoke about all current issues - police and political - in his interview on R/F SKAI 100,3, with Vassilis Chiotis and Noti Papadopoulos.

Referring to the measures for the final match of the Conference League, the Minister, after developing the planning of EL.AS, emphasized that "the request is, beyond understanding and apology, that everyone complies with the instructions of the police, so that things to be done with less effort, with less difficulties, with less discomfort and above all with more safety".

When asked about the establishment of the "Greek FBI", Mr. Chrysochoidis stated that it is a new agency, with nationwide responsibility and jurisdiction, the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (D.A.O.E.), which will deal with dealing with of the major criminal acts of organized crime, "so that we can specialize our officers more, become more penetrating in dealing with organized crime, which is increasingly expanding and expanding and therefore needs a much stronger response", he pointed out.

At this point, he referred to the connection between organized crime and fan violence, stressing that we must put an end to them and prevent the reappearance of criminal groups that operate outside the stadium and then transfer their practices to the stadium. "All those who perceive football, basketball, sports as an opportunity for criminal acts of drugs, theft, violence or anything else to realize that this place is a place for sports, recreation and not a place for crime," he said.

Speaking about the phenomenon of domestic violence, M. Chrysochoidis noted that, in May alone, 1.000 perpetrators of incidents have been arrested, while complaints about domestic violence have increased by 60% compared to last year. He also emphasized that now more mouths are opening and women are reporting the abuse they have suffered. "These women are protected" he noted and emphasized that "confidence in the Greek police is increasing".

Regarding the data showing a decrease in crime, the Minister of Citizen Protection pointed out that, although the indicators have decreased due to the increase in the number of police officers and the checks that are carried out, the priority of both him and the government is combating so-called petty crime, i.e. thefts, burglaries, etc. that trouble citizens. "A series of such actions, which really create a feeling of insecurity in the world," he said.

Speaking about the upcoming European elections, Michalis Chrysochoidis called on the citizens to go to the polls against the reduced interest that exists, so that "the country can continue at the same pace and in the same way this unparalleled stability that has been consolidated here in recent years. I believe that, always in the end, in politics and in life the right and the just prevail", he said.

Regarding the message that the citizens may want to send through abstinence, Mr. Minister emphasized that "first they should evaluate some things and reflect on the alternatives that exist, which could lead the country to another solution. What policies will we move forward with and with what certainty will we continue that policy going forward? There is a solid mass of citizens, who are the backbone of Greek society today, which does not exchange this unparalleled stability and the path towards progress, does not risk, normality for anything" he concluded.
