The Mechanics of Miracles
I am concerned with the question of the origin of man, which is the oldest existential enigma. Traditionally, we have an answer that is divided between blind biological evolution and transcendental creation. However, a deeper observation of nature reveals a striking convergence: man is not an accidental by-product of matter, but the culmination of a "thinking energy" that runs through the universe.
From a scientific perspective, the human body is a masterpiece of biological engineering. Billions of cells work together with absolute precision, performing specialized tasks that sustain the miracle of life. This self-organization suggests an inherent “logic” within the laws of physics. As modern astrophysics reminds us, we are literally made from the matter of stars, transforming, through a long evolutionary process, cosmic dust into consciousness.
The Brain as Receiver, Consciousness as Source
The biggest milestone in this journey is the emergence of consciousness. While the brain functions as the central processor that gives commands to the body, thought itself remains intangible and inexplicable. Neuroscience maps neurons, but it fails to explain the “why” of subjective experience—the so-called “hard problem of consciousness.”
A fruitful approach sees the brain as a material receiver of a broader intelligence. Just as a device reproduces music without producing it itself, so too does man become the instrument through which universal energy becomes aware of itself.
Thinking Energy and the "First Mover"
Modern physics teaches that matter is condensed energy. If this energy has intelligence – what Aristotle called “First Move Unmoved”– then the universe ceases to be a lifeless mechanism. This First Cause is self-existent and moves everything through a constant attraction towards order and perfection. In this light, galaxies and life are parts of a cosmic experiment, where energy tries out its forms, seeking a return to its original harmony.
The Synthesis: Logic and Intuition
Understanding this truth requires the collaboration of two tools: Logic, which analyzes the structure, and Intuition, which perceives the meaning. The word “God” or “Universal Energy” are conventional terms to describe what we ultimately experience as Love – the force that connects atoms, cells, and people. Love is not just a feeling, but the highest form of thinking energy that maintains the coherence of the world.
