I purchased the book "The Cry of the Columns", by my friend Kostas Katechis and it really pleasantly surprised me!
This is an elegant book that, as you turn its pages, each page hides a surprise, a poem about a different Greece, from the one we live in our everyday lives.
The glorious Greece. The Greece of greatness to which today's Greece owes its unique current industry. its tourism, and the great number of visitors that every foreign traveler who comes to these sacred lands wants to experience up close, the Acropolis of Athens with the Parthenon of Athena, ancient Olympia, the site of the Olympic Games, Phaistos and Knossos with the palaces of Minos, etc. It is to this Greece that Kostas' book is dedicated.
From the bottom of my heart, friend Kostas, a big thank you for giving me the opportunity through your wonderful work to travel to Ancient Greece, the Greece of the Gods, Demigods and Heroes!
Congratulations!!!
One of the best poetry books I have read. Reading it, you expect from moment to moment that the words will fly out of the pages of the book. Kostas' passion, his style, the power of his pen, remind me of an old-fashioned poet. He does not pretend but rebels against the current of the times when some so-called poets try with abstract concepts to present something like poetry without it being poetry in order to impress and not to inspire. Because the poet must inspire and give hope, like the poetry of Kostas Katechis in his new book

The anguish of the Greek conscience:
“The Cry of the Columns” by Kostas Katechis
I have been holding in my hands for days now the poetry collection of Kostas Katechis “The Cry of the Columns” and I treat it sometimes as a tonic drink and sometimes as an intoxicating drink… No matter which page you open, you feel the fragrance of Greece and its history emerging from his verses as a smile of joy but also as a cry of despair… Those of us who have kept the consciousness of our identity and our language unextinguished – the two are identical – and those of us who ache at the sound of every sound and who anxiously dig into history to find their root – our root – perceive the poet’s sensibilities… Especially now in the summer… “Coast”, “Sea”, “Sea” “Ocean”, “Pontos”…. Homeric words, a Greek heritage in all languages, that mark our Odyssey in space and time... The reader feels the same impact of every word of the verses of Kostas Katechis...
It was with great joy that I received my friend Kostas Katechis' new poetry collection "The Cry of the Columns". 140+ poems, hymns to Greek culture.
Your words are well-deserved, Kostas!!
