We should misinterpret and not simply paraphrase the words of Odysseus Elytis about the Greek language, in order to approach the mentality of generations of Skopians who were nurtured with the belief in their Macedonian identity and fake history, counterfeiting the very history and reality. And it is a fact that these generations were never taught that the culture created by the action of M. Alexander brought the Greek language as a "common" and means of expression throughout the then known world for centuries.
In a joint statement by former ambassadors of Greece on the occasion of our country's negotiations on Skopje, I read the following interesting remark: "Everyone should remember the official state circular-warning of the former US Secretary Stettinius (December 26, 1944), which in time , as soon as the artificial formation of "Macedonianism" was created by Tito, he said, among other things, verbatim: our Government considers that references to "Macedonian Nation", "Macedonian Homeland", "Macedonian National Identity" constitute baseless demagoguery, which does not represent a national or political reality and sees in their current revival a curtain for attacks against Greece".
From then, therefore, until today, "Macedonianism" continues undisturbed, and if the identity is not clarified and the necessary constitutional arrangements are not made for Macedonia to change the independence of the Constitution, the issue of the name of Skopje should not be the main concern of the rulers. The promises of the people of Skopje that all the required arrangements will be made in installments, even memoranda, are fraught with danger, and it is certain that their entry into the E.U. and NATO by registering the name "Μακεδονία» will reinforce their expansionist ideology.
