The cost of issuing tickets may have increased, as the tourist offices in Australia also testify, as the trip to Greece seems to have an upward price of up to 20% in 2023, nevertheless the expatriate prefers to travel to Greece this year for the summer holidays.
The number of arrivals in Greece in 2019 is expected to be exceeded, especially after the restrictive measures that kept expatriates away from travel in general, and from Greece in particular. In relation to other, mainly European markets, Germany, Britain and France expect to see an increase in the number of arrivals in Greece this year, but mainly Britain and the USA are moving positively in this direction.
We must not defy the general wave of precision that hits various countries, such as e.g. Germany, a fact which for the time being discourages excessive optimism, but as always Greece occupies a high position in travelers' preferences.
However, the USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil and other countries seem to be "voting" for Greece this year.
Η European Travel Commission stated that this year Greece is in the first 10 places of choice for travelers.
Otherwise, the US will take advantage of direct flights and more than 1 million travelers will land in Athens and other Greek destinations. The destinations that the public seems to prefer are Attica, the South Aegean and the Peloponnese.
Australia, for its part, chooses Greece, followed by France, Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain. The chosen destination (data 2021) is Attica.
