This is a new theatrical play based on the White Nights by Fyodor Dostoevsky, a classic - profoundly shocking - novella, and not simply for an adaptation, as Vasilis Katsikonouris notes.
A forgotten clown, who retains the core of the Dostoevsky hero – the loneliness, the need for daydreaming that acrobats between fantasy and reality – meets a woman who acts as a mirror of his unfulfilled desires.
Fyodor and Nastenka meet by chance and share moments that transform loneliness into hope and anticipation into a dream.
Here there is an interesting shift in the ages of the novel's two main characters that further emphasizes their loneliness and sense of helplessness.
A deeply human story about love, the need for human contact and the moments that, no matter how brief, remain within us forever. A performance that balances between laughter and emotion and reminds us that sometimes, a single encounter is enough to change everything.
