"Me Too" is an English expression, established…
I do not know if our national linguist and my teacher George Babiniotis would agree with the Greek version, which I always look for, according to his advice: "me too" or "it happened to me too". The expression was introduced, as I am informed, by the first victim of rape, an activist, who used it on the internet to denounce her adventure. And it is, of course, commonly accepted that violence against women is a shameful violation of human rights.
The Me Too movement, which was later created, started in the United States and spread around the world. It was time to come to Greece, which, fortunately, will soon update its legislation to punish such offenses, at which point the statement by each victim will now be "both moral and legal".
During this time we are overwhelmed by acts of various forms of violence that come to light every day, I have personally received… violent pressure on my brain, and I feel that I live, without knowing it, in a country of barbaric perverts, where few Greek women escaped rape and Greeks " λεβέντες »… εξελιπον! This unprecedented stimulus led me to ponder and search for the causes of the phenomenon, which lurks for years in the field of sports, theater, and beyond; and was revealed thanks to the heroic confession of Olympian Bekator, whose commendable act was praised followed by the effluent of vulgar reactions.
The social phenomenon, which concerns the whole country, is the mirror of society itself, where human values have been leveled and evaluation is considered a curse. In the field of theater, actors rise high without being worthy and with minimal recognition, University professors emerge with questionable qualifications and uneducated sports personalities occupy positions of power. All worthy, without evaluation transparent, with some subjective criteria! And when these worthy people become many and can not survive professionally, they look for various immoral ways and among them first and foremost, sex! All together now, with rare exceptions, keep their mouths shut so as not to lose the dish and not go against the tide. On the other hand, those who, with their value, fight with wild waves, without compromises, the sea often erupts on land, unable to float! .. But those of them who succeed, have taken, without always realizing it, the medal victory in life!
From this rough review of the phenomenon, the need to change our mentality as individuals and society emerges effortlessly. At the same time, the current rulers must each fight for a serious organization of the state, for meritocracy, transparency, strict institutions and punishment of the wrongdoers, without exception. The uncontrollable power, the unacceptable tendencies of political exploitation of the issues but also the dehydration of the human personality in order to improve the society must disappear.
Finally, the lesson of the social phenomenon of the day is that when rulers choose persons who will offer social work and fatally exercise power, they will control with prudence, objectivity, and transparency, without personal desires and political blinders the whole personality and ethos. of candidates, who should not depend on a male (or female) authority!
