It is tragically disappointing that in our time, after two World Wars, with more than 100 million dead, more injured physically and mentally, plus the dramatic economic, social, etc. consequences, the murderous war conflicts continue indiscriminately in the context of "Wolf Man"!
And what happened to the International Organizations that were established, supposedly, to prevent wars and establish peace?
About 100 tons of paper were needed to write the provisions of the CoE and UN Charters in order for them to be signed and ratified by their Member States.
It should be noted that the USA did not become a member of the League of Nations for the well-known reasons, which are also related to the rejection of the proposal of the US and French President Kellogg-Briand to prohibit war in general, to outlaw war, simply because in the meantime the arms production and trading companies had become a state within a state. What became of the idealistic President Wilson's declaration that the US joined the WPA to end all wars, and later at the UN the famous 4 Freedoms (Freedom of Speech and Expression, Freedom of Worship (religious), Freedom from Fear, and Freedom from Need) by Franklin Roosevelt? They were forgotten, nightmarishly, in the endless "night" of stiff competition, authoritarianism and profiteering.
The tragic, again, result: Perpetuation of regional, civil, etc. war conflicts: Korea, Vietnam, Latin America, the Middle East, the Republic of Cyprus, ex-Yugoslavia, Afghanistan. Millions dead, missing, refugees, etc.
And now the other great tragedy, the war in Ukraine with so far approximately 150 dead, not counting the wounded, the destruction of cities, villages, millions of refugees, etc. And this in 000-2022! Where is the world culture, the world democracy, the world peace that leaders were promoting for internal and international consumption? Where are the International Organizations UN, EU, NATO (especially NATO, which while founded by the UN to promote its principles and ideals in the region, suddenly appears to seek to replace the UN, which if it happens will mean the dissolution of the UN and 2023rd PP!) et al., who are supposed to - are their duties - to take care of international peace, security, development and well-being of the peoples? They are tragically absent. Too bad they didn't learn lessons from History.
Where is the late UN Secretary General Dag Hammerjold, who disagreed with the two Superpowers and went himself to achieve peace in the Congo, but was killed in a plane "accident"!
And why so much and such international cooperation, even with stiff neo-Nazis, for Ukraine, but for the Republic of Cyprus, where illegal Turkish occupation troops still remain for 50 years, violating dozens of UN resolutions, are they cynically indifferent? And for the 35 million Kurds who do not have a country, the Palestinians and others?
Even for the approximately 90 million refugees, especially small children who are drowning because of Turks and others. illegal traffickers, the millions of hungry, poor, unemployed, victims of violence and racism, epidemic diseases, and so many other terrible sufferings of Pandora's Jar, where even hope has been introduced into the international Stock Exchange? What an angelic world!
And the leaders, especially of the powerful countries, as well as religious leaders, who instead of reacting from the first moment according to the commands of their Gods, especially the Christians, who have the insurmountable and irreplaceable example of Christ, compromised (human nature? ) with worldly power losing the essence! And the bloodshed continues for the glory of the "perversely happy", those corrupted by power and material passions! And, unfortunately, Darwin's theory "The predominance of the strongest" or the most skillful is justified! That is, the laws of the jungle! Obviously, education, which suffers due to competition and is not holistic, religion (which has invented and worships idols and "gods" with human characteristics and enslaves people by promising "paradise" while Planet Earth itself can become Paradise if it presides love and peace) and International Organizations, where bureaucratic consciousness and competition for competition's sake preside and are used as a curtain or showcase for disorientation, have failed miserably.
The materialistic insanity in the context of an anachronistic and rampant competition, reminiscent of the Middle Ages, where corrupt, dark, anti-social circles ruled with the gruesome Inquisition, which offered salvation according to the gold they took from their tragic victims, has corrupted them with today's tragic, disappointing results.
People have lost their worth in the face of gun profits! Let the Experts judge: Isn't this global (leader) insanity?
