Florida: 21-year-old charged with heinous crimes against a minor
The case of a 21-year-old, Osher Joshua Pittman, who faces a series of serious charges including sexual abuse of a minor, possession of child abuse material, and involvement in extreme acts with animals, has shocked Florida public opinion.
The case began in May 2025, when an eight-year-old girl reported to police that Pittman had touched her inappropriately inside his Miami home. The young man was arrested a few days later, on May 27.
But the investigation didn't stop there. In August, authorities received an online report of child abuse material uploaded to the defendant. Following a search warrant, officers located dozens of files on his cellphone and computer containing images and videos of minors ranging in age from two to twelve.
According to Miami police, among the digital files were four videos that appear to have been recorded by him, which record the abuse of an infant just a few months old. The infant's mother recognized her child in the videos, as well as the defendant's voice and bedroom.
Authorities stressed that Pittman has no family relationship with the baby, who was reportedly entrusted to him by the child's grandmother from time to time.
The defendant now faces multiple prison sentences, while the case remains ongoing. Miami Police are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Special Victims Unit.
Miami: Two police officers injured in exchange of gunfire – The perpetrator is dead after a long siege
Scenes of tension unfolded Thursday morning in the Allapattah neighborhood of Miami when a 27-year-old man opened fire on police officers, wounding two, before barreling into a house. The hours-long thriller ended with his death, under still-unexplained circumstances.
The gunman was identified as Mason Triana. According to police, he was found dead after hours of negotiations and gunfire. It remains unclear whether he was killed by police bullets or if he took his own life.
Initial reports were of an abandoned vehicle in the middle of the road. Officers arrived to investigate, but were later alerted by a gunshot detection system to multiple gunshots in the area. At the scene, they found a vehicle riddled with bullets and then came under heavy gunfire.
A sergeant was injured in the knee and a female officer was injured in the ankle. Both are out of danger and, as Police Chief Manny Morales stated, “remain in good spirits despite their injuries.”
During the siege, Triana exchanged gunfire with SWAT officers, and in an effort to prevent bloodshed, police enlisted his family members to convince him to surrender. Neighbors described scenes that were "like something out of a war movie," with gunfire that sounded like automatic weapons.
Police confirmed that the perpetrator had a prior arrest history, but had never been convicted of a felony. According to unofficial information, the case may have started from a family dispute.
The incident has caused uproar in the Miami community, while police continue their investigation to clarify the circumstances of Triana's death and the causes of the armed attack.
