The new voluminous photographic and historical album "Patra Carnival" was presented yesterday afternoon in the halls of the Patras Chamber of Commerce, in an event that attracted hundreds of people and was one of the most extroverted events of this year's carnival. The 900-page book, signed by journalist Panagiotis Rigopoulos, was "revealed" for the first time, in the presence of representatives of bodies, clubs and carnival associations, hosted by Christina Lampiri.
The presentation event of the two-volume album "Carnival Patras - Photographic and Historical Album of Patra's Carnival", was held under the auspices of the Region of Western Greece, the University of Patras, the Chamber of Achaia and the Patras Chamber of Commerce.
It was organized by "24 Grammata" publications, the Association of Patrina Visual Arts Artists and the "patrinorama" magazine.

The evening was graced with music by the Band of Nikos Liopetas, the Ionian Orchestra of Christos Panagiotopoulos, while the musical part was topped off by Bessy Argyraki and Giorgos Salambasis, who sang live, their hits that have been associated with the Patrinos Carnival and have been loved by the carnival goers.
The evening culminated with a fierce chocolate war, by the native chocolatiers, who "bombarded" the Trade Association with hundreds of chocolates. The Associations participated: "Chocolate Races", "Chocolate Maniacs", "Chocolate Fights", "Chocolate Players" and "Chocolate Richtes", led by Pericles Dimitropoulos.
Earlier, the president of the Fine Arts Association "K. Palamas", Theodoros Mallias and had spoken about the album, among others: The Deputy Governor of Achaia, Charalambos Bonanos, the President of the Trade Association, Kostas Zafeiropoulos, the member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Achaia, Andreas Dakolias, the president of "Kallipateira Patras", Maria Manousakis, the writer Kostas Papaspilios, the former Deputy Mayor of Culture, Dimitris Pefanis, the g.y. of ESIEPIN Giorgos Karvouniaris, journalist Nikos Sougleris and Petros Psomas, head of Crew 94 that found the Hidden Treasure this year.
During the event, the songwriter Tasos Maragos, creator of the absolute anthem of Patras Carnival, was honored for his contribution to music, Patras and its Carnival. The artist, visibly moved, received the honorary plaque from the hands of the Deputy Governor Charalambos Bonanou, who praised his contribution to culture and Patras.
It is worth mentioning that the presentation of the book also marked the beginning of the exhibition of Carnival photography by Christos Stamatopoulos, which will last in the halls of the Trade Association until Friday, February 24 with free entry.
The booklet "Carnival Patras", which presents everything about the Patra Carnival, is published by "24 Grammata" publications and is already available in bookstores all over Greece.
