Inflation is a real problem
My colleagues continued to ignore the real problems facing American families, as they bickered over how many more trillions of your tax dollars they should spend, without regard to what such proposals will do to already raging inflation. I continued to sound the alarm over how these proposals will impact my constituents because I know that many of our neighbors cannot continue to bear the brunt of their poor decision-making. Fighting Out-of-Control Spending
Inflation is a tax on all Americans, and it impacts every aspect of our lives. Millions of Americans are already feeling pocketbook pain because of this Administration’s policies. The proposed spending bill will only fuel inflation and make the problem worse.
Out of control spending by Democrats is the wrong way to grow the economy. I’ve recently written a column on this important issue which directly impacts the lives of all Americans.
Reversing Course to Ease Pain at the Pump

The President’s policies have directly contributed to the energy crisis we are facing. For example, two of his first actions as President were to cancel the Keystone Pipeline and ban domestic oil leases, which eliminated thousands of American jobs, increased our dependence on foreign sources of oil, and shrunk supply.
The President also recently said that nothing could be done to lower fuel costs in the short term. Once again, the President is wrong. We don’t have to rely on Saudi Arabia to bring down the price of gas. We can unleash American energy, create American jobs, and lower American prices at the pump. The spike in in our gas prices hurts all Americans. America needs to be in the driver’s seat when it comes to our energy production.
