To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Opinion polls on political parties over time... Tempos

Political parties should stay away from this national tragedy and it is unthinkable that their percentages are calculated daily based on their positions on the issue of Tempi.

It is striking that throughout the long period of investigation and discussion of the tragedy of Tempo without any substantial result, due to the unprecedented delay in the investigations and trial of the case, the polls for the validity of parties, from all channels, have become so dense that the viewer is unable to follow.

As I pointed out in my previous article, political parties should stay away from this national tragedy and it is unthinkable that their percentages are calculated daily based on their positions on this issue. Pollsters and journalists are therefore surprised because the opposition does not gain points despite the government's deterioration from its handling of the case. Personally, I will fully justify this phenomenon with the following reasoning.

For the Tempi tragedy, beyond the main responsibility, which in any case lies with the ruling party, the parties that governed in the past are undoubtedly also responsible because they were unable to address the country's chronic pathologies, such as in this case the safety of the Greek railways, and let's not mention other sectors that are equally at risk from the recklessness of each government. The sad thing is that there was no financial weakness for this specific safety, due to the existence of European funds. And the problem of the railways remains... The Commission, moreover, has already established this, as the European legislation on railway safety is being violated in our country.

A second pathology, which has not yet been cured, is the inability to manage accidents in this place. Let us think about how SYRIZA dealt with the previous tragedy in Mati in 2018, how many years its trial was delayed, but also how those responsible were finally punished and who was held responsible! The phenomenon, unfortunately, seems to be repeating itself, and governments, current and former, are burdened, but whoever governs in the future will be threatened by the dangers that our well-known procrastination and disorganization do not allow us to prevent!

There is no doubt that this political turmoil is not only due to the parties' willingness to move forward with the procedures for the delivery of justice with proposals that alternate and contradict each day, but is mainly due to the government's inability to manage this tragedy, with unjustified delays and provocative avoidance of responsibility, which raise reasonable suspicions of concealment of information, which is gradually being revealed, and confirms them against it.

The PASOK submitted to Parliament a proposal for the establishment of a pre-investigation committee for the alteration of the Tempi accident site. It points out that there are sufficient indications that Chrys. Triantopoulos committed the offense of dereliction of duty. The request is specific, based on the findings that were forwarded to Parliament last August by the Larissa Appeals Prosecutor and were registered as additional evidence in the case file. The proposal also notes that the PASOK reserves the right to return if new evidence emerges regarding other members of the government.

This proposal was met with criticism from most parties as useless and ineffective. However, I believe we must admit that the goal of the PASOK to awaken the government, which is languishing in a state of cancer, with a specific and documented request that demands a response, is not only futile, given the overall inability of the opposition to pressure developments for the delivery of justice, either with motions of censure or no confidence, which in reality do not work. A preliminary investigation was also requested for the then minister, Mr. Costas Karamanlis, without result, now the course of the preliminary investigation that was accepted by the government is awaited and its results, of course, depend again mainly on the government's will for full transparency and clarification of the causes of the tragedy.

After what I have mentioned, I believe that we should not be surprised by the opinion polls, throughout the examination of the tragedy, about the failure to increase the percentages, especially of the main opposition, and the prevalence of "nobody", since no party seems to have the ability to relieve

the pain of the Tempi with elementary respect for the innocent victims nor to gain the trust of the citizens for the correct handling of the case. Justice remains, which I want to believe will do its duty, its sacred duty towards the people. Let it not be forgotten that the voice of the people for the Tempi is pan-Hellenic, and "the voice of the people, the wrath of God".

The far right is lurking with even chances of success, judging by the countries of the European Union, and recently Germany, that have turned to it, and is finding fertile ground to exploit the desperation of citizens. And this would be the worst development that could happen after a national tragedy, especially in the country that gave birth to Democracy.
