Stella Priovolou is an emeritus professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens and president of the College of Emeritus Professors of EKPA. He was born in Athens. He studied Greek and French Philology at the University of Athens, and holds a PhD from the Universities of Athens and Rome. She was Professor of Latin-Italian Philology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens, President of the Department of Italian Language and Philology and Director of the Postgraduate Program "Greco-Roman-Greco-Italian Studies: Literature and Literature". She also served as vice president of the Department of Slavic Studies at EKPA. He is a member of Greek and international scientific societies and author of many studies. Her scientific research, for a long time, focused on Dario Fo's play and its relationship to medieval Latin literature. Examples include the books: 1. "Dario Fo, a modern goliardus", 2. "Dario Fo, venticinque monologues for a woman: La Medea", and 3. "Rosa Fresca Aulentissima, the medieval love poem through the eyes of philologists and Nobel Laureate Dario Fo". This poem was translated into Greek with the subsidy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the book was awarded by the Hellenic Society of Literary Translators and is a textbook for students of Theatrical Studies at the University of Turin. Her book "Carmina Burana veris et amoris" is the first translation and interpretation of these poems in Greek, and the essay entitled "The Greco-Roman roots of Europe through the reflection of European scholars" has been translated into Italian and Romanian. Her recent literary book entitled "Stella, a life is not enough for us" is dedicated to her little granddaughter. From 1994 to 2001 he was Vice President of I.K.Y. and responsible for the Community program "Socrates". Scientific manager of foreign language programs at the Hellenic Open University and expert G.G.ET. for student mobility. Regular member of the National Broadcasting Council 2000-2001. From 2001-2004 Special Secretary for Education of Expatriates and Intercultural Education at the Ministry of Education, Chairman of the Support Committee for the Chair of Greek Studies at Foreign Universities and national representative to the Council of Europe for the European Year of Languages ​​2001. He was also President of the Association of Scientists of Italian Universities (SEPI) and G. Secretary of the Société Européenne de Culture in Greece. She has been honored with the highest distinction of the Italian state CAVALIERE al merito della Repubblica Italiana, in 2002, and for her contribution to Greek Letters and culture by the Fokida Women's Union, in 2007. Besides, he has been declared an honorary citizen of Chios, in 2007. He developed political activity in the area of ​​PASOK, as a member of the CoE. and in an honorary position on the ballot for the European Parliament of 1999. He wrote for years on issues of education and critique of scientific and literary books in the newspaper TA NEA and in the monthly edition of the University of Athens "To Kapodistriako" and on the website aixmi.gr. Today he collaborates with scientific magazines, with BIMA of Kyriaki, the literary magazine "Odos Panos", and the "Independent think tank for sciences and society" of the University of Athens. During the Solemn Session of the Academy of Athens, December 20, 2022, the president of the Body of Emeritus Professors of the University of Athens (SOKPA) received the Academy's award for the entire publishing work of SOKPA.
