To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

The silent power of a hug

The silent power of a hug

The whole world fits in one hug!!

Η World Hug Day, on January 21st, It may sound simple, even funny. And yet, in a world that is running, and constantly moving away with the stress of everyday life, a hug is an act of great inestimable value.

A hug is not just a physical movement. It is a message without words: “I am here”, “I see you”, “you are not alone”. When we hug someone, we offer them security for a few seconds. The body relaxes, the heart slows down, anxiety subsides.

In adult life, however, the hug is often pushed aside. We keep our distance, we are ashamed, we are afraid of appearing weak. And yet, that is precisely where its power lies: in the tenderness that dares to appear in a cruel world.

Hugging also has a profound healing power. Research shows that human contact helps reduce stress and releases hormones that make us feel safe and connected. So, instead of some medications, hugs should be "prescribed", a few every day, without side effects, with the only condition being love.

A hug can say more than a hundred words of advice. It can show the love we feel, support someone who is grieving, comfort a person who has failed, give courage to someone who is afraid.

On January 21st and every day, let's dare to embrace a little more.

We might change someone's day.

Maybe ours too.
