Σε εκείνους που σκέπτονται πως η Ελλάδα σήμερα δεν έχει καμία σημασία ας μου επιτραπεί να πω ότι δεν θα μπορούσαν να κάνουν μεγαλύτερο λάθος. Η σημερινή, όπως και η παλιά Ελλάδα, έχει υψίστη σημασία για οποιονδήποτε ψάχνει να βρει τον εαυτό του.

Kyriaki Mitsou

Kyriaki Mitsou is a multilingual Greek actor who was born and raised in Athens and is based in London. She studied Social theology at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and acting at the Higher Drama School of Athens ‘Iakovos Kambanellis’. She took directing courses at the Royal central school of speech and drama and she also holds an MA at Theatrical Studies from the Open University of Cyprus with direction in Acting and Directing.
She has been working as an actress since 2007 in various shows in theatre and television and has participated in many films in Greece and U.K. The most recent of the them are: ‘Remember When’(Τα καλύτερά μας χρόνια) EPT1, ‘#3099’ that was awarded at Beijing Film Festival, ‘On sourit pour la photo’, ‘Stay’, ‘Mangas’ which was screened at BFI film Festival in 2018, Blood Rites to name a few.
As a director she has directed ‘Shopping and Fuck***’ at Vafeio theatre and was the assistant director at ‘Pulp Fiction’ in Alkistis theatre, both of them in Athens. While in London she directed ‘The maids, a game for two’ at White Bear Theatre , ‘Pitsa’ again at White bear Theatre and the kid’s show ‘The swallow that was waiting for Christmas’ at Hellenic Center. She also directed and performed at the plays ‘With Power from Kifisia’ (Με Δύναμη από την Κηφισιά)written by D. Kehaidis and E.Haviara, ‘In Kambanellis’ Neighbourhoods’ (Στις Γειτονιές του Καμπανέλλη) a tribute performance to Iakovos Kambanellis that also presented at Tirana as part of Kambanelli’s Cultural Year and ‘Who discovered America?’ (Ποιος Ανακάλυψε την Αμερική;) written by Chrysa Spiliotis. All the above were presented at the Golden Goose Theatre in London. Part of her artistic work has been exhibited at the gallery Tate Modern in London.
Recently she was appointed as The Representative of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture in the UK. She is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the multicultural organization ‘Culture In Action’, Founding Member of the multidisciplinary art group ‘Fabrica Athens’, and Member of the European Union Women Commission in Greece in the branch of Culture.
Furthermore, she is a teacher at Greek Parish schools, supporting the effort of transmitting the love and knowledge of Greek language and culture to the younger generations of diaspora. She is also supporting the community by the very important position of the secretary at St. Nicholas Parish at Shepherds Bush.
