I received Licenciatura en Física from UNISON, the MSc. Physics from Arizona State University and the PhD in Astronomy from the University of Arizona in 2000. My main topics of interest are: Extragalactic Astronomy, Asteroids, Cultural Astronomy, History of Science, Astronomy Education and Astronomy Outreach. I have helped create infrastructure such as astronomical observatories and planetariums and I am a member of the team that constructed the Monumental Antikythera Mechanism in Hermosillo (MAMH). I have published over 50 international publications and have delivered several hundreds of talks both for the public and at professional conferences. In 2004 I was recognized as the founder of Astronomy at the University of Sonora. I have received a few other recognitions, but the one dearest to me is the Hipparchus Price awarded by the Hellenic Society of Physics.
