As the 31st Greek Film Festival draws to a close this Sunday, we’d like to take a moment to thank you for your support throughout this year’s festival.
It’s been an incredible two weeks of Greek cinema, with record attendance and more screenings across Melbourne than ever before.
We’re grateful to our friends in the media who continue to support the Greek Film Festival and the broader work of the Greek Community of Melbourne. Your coverage helps us reach new audiences, share important stories and bring greater visibility to the cultural initiatives we deliver throughout the year.
As a small token of our appreciation, we’d love to invite you and a guest to join us for the festival’s Closing Night screening of ELECTRA this Sunday, 25 October, at the Astor Theatre.
Directed by Dimitri Tarlow, ELECTRA is a bold, contemporary adaptation of Sophocles’ classic Greek tragedy. First performed at Epidaurus in 2025, this noir-inspired production reimagines the story as a dark cabaret, exploring justice, revenge and the destructive cost of violence.
